Our Story

2 Years of helping the babies

Hello Family,

Welcome to the Create For-A- Cause Family !! Thank you so very much for checking us out !!

My name is Harper, I am 16 years old. If there is one thing to know about me I have a very strong passion for helping make our world a better place! You may say what can a 16-year-old kid even do anyways. If there is one thing I have learned is that no matter your age or size (physical, financial, or emotional) you can do anything you put your mind to!

When I was a girl in the 3rd grade I ran for Student Council; I told my mom that I needed a slogan, so she proposed a quote by the singer Jewel,¨In the end only KINDNESS matters.¨ since then that quote has really stuck with me!! I have noticed that in many bad situations that go on around me if someone would have had a bit more kindness and compassion that situation could have gone very differently.

Since then I have tried to do the best I can to BE KIND and leave the biggest impact I can. One day my Aunt asked me if I wanted to do the Infant Crisis Services Summer teen volunteer program. I instantly jumped on the idea of getting to help; soon after I applied I received an email that said when I began the program I would need to donate an In-kind-donation of either 1,000 diapers or $100. I thought to myself Harper you are going to raise way more than that, you will donate 5,000 diapers or more! As we all know good diapers are quite pricey, so I decided to find a way to raise enough money to get the diapers, but how?

One night my mom asked have you thought of any ideas and I said ¨no¨. I had just finished some art for my school art show and had no place to hang it and the pile was growing, there were no more places to hang the art My mom said ¨what if you sell your art to raise money.¨ Now here we are!! to date, we have raised over $3,800 for Infant Crisis services and continue to raise more.

All the art sold is hand-painted by me and 100% of the profits go to the Infant Crisis center.

So... We started with just the art and were able to raise over $8,000 and counting so far but if you know me that's not near enough. That got me thinking how can we expand on this even more; then I thought what is something that makes a lot of people happy and can also help the babies. I thought coffee but how can I market this? My dad recently learned how to roast his own coffee beans so, I decided I was gonna use my own money to purchase supplies and beans and learn how to roast them and sell them to help the babies at infant crisis services and that's when Coffee For a Cause was created. I am so excited to be able to expand and learn an amazing new skill. I hope you enjoy helping the babies as much as I do! thank you for all the support so far and thanks for keeping it up!

Sincerely with love,

Harper
